Mercado Artesanal is much more than a market. Our showroom galleries are filled with one-of-a-kind original art, sculpture, jewelry, textiles and decorative home and corporate gifts, personally selected by our team, that reflect the rich culture and history of Latin America from Mexico to Argentina.

We have personal relationships with artisans throughout the Americas that you’ll be able to meet in recorded interviews while they share their own stories of the culture that goes into their design and workmanship, as you browse among the items made by their hands in their own often remote workshops.

Monthly workshops and/or musical guests will be scheduled on the second Saturday of each month as we bring artisans to share their music or art form and offer the opportunity to learn about their traditional techniques.

Our commitment is to make these often forgotten or unknown traditions available to you locally. In return, we are sponsoring a tree reforestation project in Oaxaca and the building of a school in remote Peru that offers local students and homeless youth the opportunity to learn a traditional trade.

Our aim is to be inclusive, so the middle colors of our logo are the Olympic ring colors, selected to reflect that Mercado Artesanal is a community place to bring together all cultures.

Café Hatuey is named in honor of the sixteenth century Taino Indian Cacique (chief) who led the first organized resistance to the invading Spaniards and was later burned alive by his captors. His efforts to keep the unique culture of the Americas intact is an inspiration to those who honor traditions and the artisans who are dedicated to keeping that spirit alive.

Music and dance are part of the Latino culture, so please join us Saturday nights starting at 6:00pm, as local and invited guests feature a variety of Latino sounds.
