Mercado369 hosted a fundraiser with Vicente Fox, the 55th president of Mexico. Proceeds supported Centro Fox youth education programs, helping the Guanajuato, Mexico-based nonprofit organization continue providing leadership-building opportunities to students ages 6 and up.

Oaxaca, Mexico’s cultural art and history came to Oak Cliff! Mercado369 launched its free Art Talks series with internationally renowned artisans Jacobo and María Angeles.
Internationally renowned artisans Jacobo & María Angeles guided guests through painting an “alebrije” to life! Through their vivid alebrije creations and sharing of expertise, Jacobo & María maintain one of Oaxaca, Mexico’s oldest artisanal traditions alive.
Baldor’s latest project is Mercado Artesanal, a gallery that offers the work of Latin American artisans in a showroom on Jefferson Boulevard. The project not only helps artists from impoverished communities, it also helps transform a historic Dallas street with beauty.
Picture an open-air Latino market combined with a high-brow art gallery and you have Mercado Artesanal, a new attraction on West Jefferson Boulevard. Although Oak Cliff is known for its Latino businesses, the new art operation is a novelty for the street, which mostly features quinceañera dress stores, taquerías, paleterias and panaderías.
Imagínese un mercado latino al aire libre fusionado con una galería de arte. El resultado es el Mercado Artesanal, que abrió recientemente en West Jefferson Boulevard. Aunque esa parte de Oak Cliff es conocida por sus comercios hispanos, el nuevo espacio artístico todavía es una novedad en esa calle, donde abundan las taquerías, tiendas de quinceañera, paleterías y panaderías.
Cruising down the Jefferson Boulevard drag, you’ll find a variety of Hispanic/Latino-focused businesses — from taquerias and quinceañera dress shops to grocery stores — and the historic Texas Theatre. Slowly, newer shops and eateries catering to different crowds are moving into this Oak Cliff neighborhood.

Oak Cliff’s Bishop Arts District is in the midst of a makeover with new retail and apartments. A few blocks away, a new art gallery – Mercado Artesanal – aims to help the neighborhood keep its cultural identity.

An exciting new artisan operation celebrating Latin American art and culture is coming to North Oak Cliff. Called Mercado Artesanal, it’s a combination market-cafe-gallery spotlighting one-of-a-kind original art, sculpture, jewelry, textiles, and gifts that reflect the rich culture and history of Latin America from Mexico to Argentina.
A group of showroom galleries opens on Jefferson near the Oak Cliff Cultural Center and the Texas Theatre, and they’re worth looking into, as both co-working-space lingo and suggestions of indigenous live music featuring handmade instruments show up in the beginnings of its online presence. Mercado Artesanal will offer “one-of-a-kind original art, sculpture, jewelry, textiles and decorative home and corporate gifts, personally selected by our team, that reflect the rich culture and history of Latin America from Mexico to Argentina.”
